Kuri robot - OFFWORLD MODELS ::: The Art Of Mark Nohrnberg

Kuri robot

For a little more than a year I have had the fun of painting many Kuri robots. At first I painted the original prototypes and color test body panels. later I vacuformed  test parts for IR testing. After testing I got to paint full sets of Kuri body parts. I later repainted many of the early production test shot body shells so the colors would be more consistent.  The toughest painting was for the set of Kuries that went to the CES electronics show in Las Vegas. I think it was the first time in public two sets became five sets and the deadline was too short, It worked out fine and Kuri was a hit.

The painting was a big production it took up all of my table space.

Even the face is cute upside down.

These parts are for a fully detailed non working model of Kuri I painted and assembled the body with weight in the floor. The purpose was for a color study and static display.
